The term customary use refers to patterns of long-standing community land and resource use, including seasonal or cyclical use. The concept of customary use is often used in reference to land claims of Indigenous Peoples, as understood through their customary laws, values customs, and traditions (rather than formal legal title to land and resources issued by the state).
