Household composition and residence

The household roster links structures, households and individual members, including dependants living elsewhere. Define residence and shared provisioning before adapting the roster, and keep those definitions consistent across interviews.

Project questionnaire · Indonesia/Maluku · Survey design

Design use

Define membership through residence and shared provisioning criteria, including temporary absence. Give each person one persistent identifier and record their relationship to the household separately. Allow several households within one structure and links to dependants living elsewhere.

Instrument review

Question 33 retains skip references to 28a and 29. Resolve these against the selected instrument version before field use; the household relationship categories also overlap.
